It has been in the pipeline for some time now and I am proud to launch it for Term4!
The purpose of this blog will be to share and celebrate our work, as well as some homework tasks. From time to time I will post links to some websites that you might find useful.
I was so impressed and inspired by the research and thinking presented in last terms debate on Genetically Modified food that I would like to extend that opportunity and give you the chance to consider and comment on current issues through this blog.
To start off the MBS13-09Blog, watch the video link belowThe purpose of this blog will be to share and celebrate our work, as well as some homework tasks. From time to time I will post links to some websites that you might find useful.

"The Technology of Mind Control",
then consider and comment on this question;
Does Technology Makes Us Lazy?
I believe that technology provides us with an opportunity to be lazier however it doesn't make us lazy, instead I believe we CHOOSE to be lazy. I think the examples given in the video are poor examples. They show very lazy use of this technology but imagine the possibilities and opportunities this kind of technology could create for the quality of life for a disabled person. If we choose to use this technology in a way that saves us from having to push a button with our finger then we are choosing to be absolutely Lazy! On the other hand, if we are able to use this technology to improve the quality of life for a person who doesn't have the ability to push a button then that surely can't be deemed lazy. I totally disagree that it is technology that makes us lazy; you can't blame the technology you have to blame the choices that humans make.
ReplyDeleteLazy is as lazy does!
ReplyDeleteI found since the advent of technology much of my life has got busier. I am more accessible to knowledge and to others.
Yes, sitting at a desk or play station may breed apathy in the physical way but not in the mental way.
I believe our brains are much more wired and busier than they used to be.
With technology it also allows you to have more time to do the physical things you would like - if you choose to.
Opportunity is what we make of it!
I think that technology well in the case on the videos is not necessary and yes i do think it makes us lazy.
ReplyDeleteHowever in some cases say if you are disabled it gives them more opportunities to live like a normal person and can create a better life of a better quality. although in cases like a computer or the internet it can be very helpful and makes life life much eaiser for many people.I think that some people do take technology for granted becase it is our choice if we use it to the extent that it makes us lazy.

AGREE WITH ME!!!!!!
We all make our own decisions. So if we get lazy because we spend too much time sitting in front of the computer then that's our fault. Technology does not force us to spend hours using it!
ReplyDeleteSure, some lazy slobs might sit in front of the X-Box all day. But they have CHOSEN to do that. Technology has not MADE them do that.
By the way Miss Fulton, your Blogg is awesome! Room 13 are very lucky that you are so cool to have created this for them.
I'm in Toronto at a literacy conference at the moment and being so computer illiterate I can't see how to sign in to your blog site and respond there to your question of the week!
ReplyDeleteActually, I wish I could be lazier because of computers, but they seem to keep me more busy than ever. They are so empowering (make it easier for you to do more) and connective (keep you networked to so many more people) that it takes more time to do all the things you couldn't do before and to communicate with all those people you wouldn't have mailed letters to! Both great problems, but neither of them support being lazy!!
Now, you see, I have another job on my endless "To Do List: - find out how to respond to your blog! It takes so much effort to stay current with new technological innovations!!
Congratulations on getting it set up! Check out my new website at www.literacydesigns.com - nothing lazy about getting that set up either!
